From the village of Martello to Malga Lyfi
Start at the church in Martello (1310 m) and go northwards until you reach the bus turning area where you can see the first signposts. Today’s stage, which is quite demanding due to the many ascents, always follows path no. 8. Go up along the street and continue until the houses after the first right-hand bend (red and white marking no. 8 and 11 on the wall). Take the steps next to the houses and continue until the road. Turn left and go towards Ennethal and Waldberg (large signs) until the junction. Follow the signposts for paths no. 8 and 11 through the meadow to reach the road (signs). Continue on the other side of the road and cross the relatively steep meadow until you reach the asphalt road to the mountain farms. Go left und follow the road with red and white markings to Premstlhof (1550 m). Continue between the buildings and follow the sign for Stallwies. Go along the road and then turn right to take the path to Oberhof (signposted path no. 8). There is a short steep ascent before you continue on the narrow road to Oberhof (1703 m). Go left after the buildings to descend (Please follow the signs!). Take the narrow lane down to the road where you start the well-marked ascent to Stallwieshof (1930 m). There you can see a signpost towards Malga Lyfi. The next station is Malga Schluder (2020 m; not managed). Then follow the signs for Malga Rosim. Keep left at the next junction (the signposts there are a bit confusing) and go down along the wooden fence. The path splits above Malga Rosim. Follow the signs for Malga Rosim (no. 9 instead of no. 8) and pass by the small mountain hut (not managed) soon after. After crossing the stream there is another ascent before you reach Malga Lyfi (2165 m).
If you would like to avoid the ascent from the village of Martello on the asphalt road to the mountain farms, you can take the shuttle bus (in the summer months only; bus stop and timetable at the bus turning area at the end of the village) until the Premstlhof bus stop and start your stage there.
